THE WILD POETRY
ELIOT HYPERPOEM
REVISED

January 2005, we add three poems by Christopher T. George, here and here.

March 2004, we add a poem by Ranjani.

January 2004, we  add a new Auden hyper, a contest at Writer's Hood.

Welcome to the third edition of the Wild Hyperpoem.  Four new poems added:  Suzanne Griffith, Helen Schmidt, Marshall Woody and Deborah Russell's 5th.  Corrections made which prevented two from being read:  Michaela A. Gabriel and Pris Campbell.  But most important, a TABLE OF CONTENTS has been added so you can find your favorite poet or poem without having to search through all of the links.

There are two poems added to the Gandy also, so please pop over there.

If you want to do a poem, take an unused line and email me so I know.  I will be updating the site more or less quarterly.

Thanks.

Gary

Announcing the addition of 17 additonal poems linked to the Eliot, displaying the poetic talents of  Abha Iyenger of New Dehli, Anthony Visperas, Chris Ziesler of the UK, J Scott Malby, Lisa Cannons, Lisa J Cohen (her second), Micheal Virga, Natalka  of BC, Pris Campbell, Michaela A Gabriel of Vienna, Denis Garrison, Rebecca Patrascu, Silvia Brandon, Jim Bennett of the UK, Thomas Fortenberry,  DJ Clowes, and Gary B's number two.

Of course the way this works is you have to pop over to the Eliot and find them.  It is really not that difficult.  Once you are there, place your pointer over a linked line and you will see a dialogue box telling whose poem you are about to enter.

There is a new bit at the Gandy also, so feel free to pop in there also.

If you already have a line, I still would like your poem.  If you want one, mail me.  I will be updating the site quarterly more or less.

Enjoy.

Gary

Once upon an internet time, there was a poetry forum called Blueline, which split into New Blueline and Gandy Creek (and Gandy later become Sharpened Word.  Such is the way of the Web.)   While the fishing hole was open at Gandy, the key-holder to the bait shop took a trip over to Pennine Works, a board ran by a British cousin.

The good folk who opened Pennine were known for "hyperpoems," works written by forum members linked to a famous poem.  Pennine typically selected American poets.  In order to honor the Cousins, the key-holder at Gandy, Gardawg,  picked a poem by the  Irish poet, William Butler Yeats: Sailing to Byzantium.

Wild Poetry agreed for their good name to used in the second of Gardawg hyper presentation.  The Dawg selected one of the seven wonders of modern poetry, Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, for the poet's to link their poems.

Over 30 poets from Wild, Pennine and others (including two group works from other houses) -  Byron Sacre (2), Ryfkah, Gary B, Arthur W. Seeley (2), G. L. (Blaze) Williams, Mary Hazen-Stearns (3), Bren, Perpetua Pullman, MA Griffiths (3), Sally Evans (4), James Bell, Carole MacRury, Lisa J. Cohen,  DS (Marlowe), MJM, Frank Faust, Deborah Russell (4), Paul Lyons, Terrie Relf, Sharon Svendsen, and TE Ballard - participated.  The two group poems are from All in a Pen and The Critical Poet.

Follow the link and you will go to Eliot's poem.  There, lines will take you to the individual offers from the poets.

For another hyper effort linked to The Song, go here.

Have fun and feel free to mail Gardawg if you have any comments or suggestions.

Thank you.

Gary B
